What exactly is Business Spirituality?


What exactly is Business Spirituality? It remains a question that many are still struggling. In short, this is the answer to the question of how an organization, what kind of organization also, in our turbulent environment can sustain itself and grow.

This specific question is a manager with me: what should we do? My obvious answer is the question: what do you want? Which often follows the reaction: that is exactly our problem, that we do not know, because the situation is unclear and the changes are so fast that we do not know anymore. This may not even the best manual solution.

Then comes my next question: who are you then? What is your power, what is your weakness, what opportunities do you see and where are you inclined? That is the question of the identity of a company, the deepest vocation which is supported by the organizational culture. That answer is not easy to give. It requires a deeper reflection on the core values ​​of the organization. These are typically found in the founders of the company, because they have the company up from a deep ideal, from a high level of expertise and a strong team.

This land is the primal source of inspiration and strength of the organization was. Unfortunately, that source in the course of history became polluted, clogged or dried up with the result that the inner spiritual strength of the company was lost. The recovery and restoration of this inner force, that is the point at Business Spirituality. It consists of expertise to effectively work. That is a profit, results, and successfully achieve something. This expertise comes into its own only in a strong team and achieved something great from a strong idealism and profound spiritual strength.

The consistency of these business skills, strong team spirit and his deep inspiration Business Spirituality. This is true even for the family as a mini-organization as well as a family needs money, a strong team spirit and a great idealism. Business Spirituality is good business, careful, disciplined, and from a deep inspiration. That requires investment and tenacity.

    Both the blog of Paul de Blot, if the reactions are very interesting and telling the story to my idea about the breadth of this topic. The scientific and by analyzing the facts as Rob Dry doing is only partially possible on an intangible reality.

    In my opinion it is certainly possible to trace and identify universal values ​​but is the essence of spirituality in business correspondence between the "soul" and mission of an organization and the daily communications of all people who are directly connected to this.

    If you can be to some people ask why they are in company X, with high spirit and mission factor, are going to work out the answers that corporate values ​​represented as: everyone really works together towards the goal and we celebrate together party when we get them, my ideas are taken seriously and used, people are happy and work hard for their clients, communication is direct and transparent, is stimulated to grow, proud of my logo, etc.

    If you are a year later to the same people asking why they are there STAY work, you invariably get the same answer. The organization (group of people with a mission and vision and plan and method of work etc) makes it happen!
    Sometimes the staff can not name but they will for the same reason the company started working. "Good atmosphere, positive mentality"

    In summary, it is the soul father, the entrepreneur / founder of the soul or spirit translated into a mission and a vision. He creates with words a vision of the company and places it under a meaning for people.

    This makes them inspired and partakers of that soul and mission and are going to propagate everywhere they go. It is the leaders of an organization to continue to feed the soul and future to continue to create. If that does not happen, the organization is soulless and is at best a quarterly driven profit machine, where people work without a spiritual reason for that. It is perishable!

    I myself as an entrepreneur founded a company to grow hard and annually after 7 years to crash with a bankruptcy in early 2010. The crisis was the final push, but the death of my business was because the soul was kept alive by myself. The remain engaged with the powerful future and here on a monthly communication with all stakeholders is a necessity.

    Very, very painful but especially instructive. A major breeding ground and inspiration for my next company. Congruence of meaning, identity, beliefs, values ​​and behavior are the heart of the company. No heart no soul!

    Finally, spirituality is a long term business which is leading. Now a decision that the profit for the next 2 years will maximize, but the company is unfortunately a couple of years erodes economic reality. Stock market prices, shareholders are real and often have a confounding effect on business spirituality.

    It remains the task of founder / leader to that soul and mission to keep alive and nurture all people committed to keep them together so consciously and unconsciously continue to act to the corporate values ​​that come from the soul / spirit and mission. So you always recognize the company and its employees in the marketplace. That's business spirituality.

    So my response back reading, I think my point is that I believe spirituality is a real development or deployment process to begin making any misconception, religious or scientific assumption or belief, any illusion will eventually go down.     I find it odd in this speech that you are "profit" presupposes, something for successful performance. Incidentally, that "something" still far from beneficial. I believe that the current financial / economic world situation to improve the rationale should be beneficial business in an ethical manner at such widely as possible to set up or expand. That this profit to be made for several reasons logically acceptable, but not with the mind to possibly the greatest possible profit to the detriment of the open-minded consumer.
