Following the establishment of the Chair of Spirituality at Nyenrode Business I received criticism from a renowned organizational expert Nyenrode where it is doing. Are they even at this university with esoteric religious practices or doing? This person is certainly not the intent of this chair with Nyenrode understood. Nyenrode Business University and each has a chair is also aimed at this.
Spirituality is subject to renewal business organization, but from the deeper spiritual meaning and power of an organization. It is therefore primarily to the professional business, which is actually achieve something. This performance is not necessarily monetary gain. In healthcare and education, the Red Cross and other charity organizations, religious and other non profit organizations, it is always a good policy to measurable performance. There must always be profitable, but it does not necessarily return to the lenders. We call that business, that's business.
By the ever faster changing environment such as globalization, technological and scientific developments, it is not possible to do level to keep safely for surge and burn out. For good security decisions are needed. Those with the often unpredictable developments, including the current crisis, no more experimental and rationally justify. We therefore look for other criteria of certainty, that is our inner certainty at its deepest level, that is our consciousness of meaning.
Both personally but collectively we are able to awareness of the meaning of an organization. These are our spiritual powers, the source of our personal and collective energy in organizations where we have little use of it. An organization consists of people and is focused on people. A company is therefore also a living organism with a passion and meaning. The discovery, identification and development of instruments of this spiritual force is the responsibility of the Chair of Nyenrode Business Spirituality.

This is a response to the seminar Business Spirituality dated 26.1.2009 Special to experience: the seminar of Prof.. Dr. Paul de Blot SJ, with the energy theme. Thereto, as it turned out, so many facets connected. During the evening was the focus on the source of spirituality in our humanity, namely the inner freedom of the child's system, a dimension of our existence more and more into the background by us to adapt to what we think they should do. This includes movement, not in the sense of sec physical exertion, but movement that brings us in touch with our experience and thus feeling low. Paul de Blot let us meditate on the flame of a candle, literally in mind, the movement of this energy acting. Where is this image and this movement? This is for anyone else again. With the intention of the flame in our own experience, we move, invited by soft music and the inspiration of the movement of the flame. In a short time the whole room with 100 people, the interconnectedness, possibly by the same inspiration and the perception of motion, palpable. This was reflected in the many grateful and enthusiastic responses from attendees afterwards. Surprised at himself for daring to show this. To be astonished by the inner freedom and playfulness that came through. The experience of the energy released by an open mind and heart and from there connect to engage others in motion, synchronous: the experience of unity. I would like more inspiration in this movement and want to experience together, which releases energy. Energy that allows us to find new perspectives, with a fresh look and creative.
