In care as well as in education is all about the inspiration

by Paul de Blot 16 September 2009 permalink

I've been working 45 years in both education and health care. There I met people with a strong spirit. Their idealism, I owe it that I have enjoyed working in these two sectors. I'm always grateful for them. At the same time I also saw very often they were frustrated in their expectations, often so strong that they dropped out. That is the greatest destruction of capital for these institutions.

People are often not aware what is love for the profession lives by teaching people, including those hospitals and other similar institutions. It is the great emphasis on control is often the enthusiasm of highly successful and charitable institutions has undermined. Unilaterally setting rational systematic and exclusive focus on financial policy often choked the inspiring environment of the organization. The pursuit of scale is often the cause here.

Scaling businesslike and weakens human relationships and hence the job satisfaction and inspiration. The heart of the organization touched by greed and easy machtsrivaliteit petrified and must again be a heart of flesh and blood people can inspire.

In education is all about the spirit of young people in the future to build. Then follows the success itself. In the care of people is about the atmosphere of hospitality, the feel at home making it easier to recover. It is about creating energy to the people to inspire. Infuse always starts small and it always starts with yourself. Inspired people to radiation and are contagious to others. Then with it comes an inspiring organization in spite of the opposing forces.

The American professor of spirituality and management, Bene Margaret Fielding, has researched the spirit power of successful companies. These mainly the heart and followed dared to dream of big results. Dare to dream of ideals of good teaching and successful care, then the soul to move said Margaret Bene Feel.

Dear Mr. Blot, and binding to a depth magazine about a vocational setting, we as editors like to write an article about the lack of inspiration in education. We are excited and want to hit through your texts like this theme broadly and outside the school to order. We would like also some excerpts from your blog text to present to the school staff and external policy that have to do with education. Do you find that? Thanks for the inspiring words and eye-openers. Who do you actually responsible for the 'ontzieling'van education and how we can get it back? I wish you a nice weekend. Best regards, Marijke Roskam - editor

    Dear Paul,

Recently I (as a trainer / consultant), both in healthcare and in the education and ended up looking for inspiration I came (back) to your visit. You give advice often as "Be personal example" and I totally agree.

You told me something that I've had too much and that I like because of the simple success with other readers of your blog to share. You said (perhaps you said something different and I twisted it to my advantage, but it was certainly inspired in your words) "If you can speak languages silence, you hear what people say." Of course true that, but the nice thing is that I've noticed that if I share with others this sense, that everyone will immediately understand what I mean and that suddenly a whole new level of information transmission. Exactly the level that is so essential in the care and education.

    With gratitude,

    Dear Paul,

Recently, I know your really simple but ingenious combination of business and feeling.

It's really awfully obvious, but you're the only one who came here. It inspires. What would be for me the main reasons for spirituality to study business?

    Greetings!

    Dear Paul,

First of all thanks for your insightful newsletter that gives me more inspiration. I agree with your analysis about the importance of inspiration and think this is certainly essential in the education and health sectors, but also needed in other sectors, both public and private.

I have for years inspired in the public sector, social work and recognize the process of mergers and expansion after the inspiration had disappeared completely. Transparency, motivation, commitment ... everything disappeared through the verzakeling that they forgot to "connect" with the spirit and purpose of the organization.

For me it was the reason to the way of my own heart and be an independent entrepreneur. Now I have my own coaching and counseling firm in which I and people of color in nature and their life coach business coach business spirituality.

The connection between soul and professionalism, the awareness that this is not opposing forces but by connecting a quality improvement can be made, nature plays an important role.
I think nature is even the most important link in this realization because in nature we can "experience" that everything is connected. It is through the experience "know" we are from the inside how important that connection is and convert that much easier for our daily activities at home and at work ... This process of consciousness brings a loving flow going and the way we approach life with humans, animals and the environment interact.

    Kind regards,

    Dear Mr. de Blot,

I can not but fully agree with you.
We (Research to Improve Care and Kern) were recently asked to investigate the experience of patients. I'm following a 30 years old who have used satisfaction, proposed a new type of research to work. I stuck to taking on trust and have it include quality from multiple perspectives approach, all from the experience of the patient. In the experience of other health care professionals the skills we made differentiates between expertise, patient orientation and people orientation. I use it in Spiral Dynamics which specific sets of values could be linked to the behavior that is recognized by patients.
    * Expertise (blue): clear, informative, adequate
    * Patient-oriented (Orange): thoughtful, courteous, service-oriented
    * People-oriented (green): empathy, compassion, connected, compassion
The scores do not much escaped, but that also means that many professionals in the eyes of patients very people oriented and I think that's a great compliment to them. Especially when you realize that the hospital in various lists badly.
Soon Fred Lee to the Netherlands. He is in America a strong advocate of a people-oriented, animated approach in hospitals. I told him of our approach and we meet next week. Perhaps this experience that I once again write a blogje.

    I really enjoy your contributions!

    Dear Paul,

Having the above in mind come to me more 'variables' up.
The potential connection would depend on culture is strange as both cultures love for the profession. Love for a profession I do not depend on culture. At least it should not depend on. Love is independent. Love is a natural thing and not a cultural thing.

I do not think it was Ignatius' culture that made him love for God and the less fortunate. It was Ignatius himself, indeed! Ignatius came to this realization through a crisis. Love for God, nature, life, etc. Love yourself. You can only return something if you already have. It was not the love that was dependent on financial resources. The drug-free education was dependent on money. Although Ignatius had no money the love remained. The cultures that took place within his organization could work because the goal, love of life at all was the same size and only purpose. He achieved this through his exercises. Exercises to the general realization to come. This awareness is accompanied by divine inspiration. Everyone had one except their faith.

Like any religion is like a variable is the constant belief, one goal. Faith can be compared with nature. The different religions with culture. Inspiration is like knowing that Ignatius reached. (I think.)
If the animation is good it does not matter whether large or small applied.
The animation is somewhat offset by economic reasons. Know the people in the care and education. Who knows that even the government. The government used that enthusiasm for the subject. They use it as a means of emotional manipulation. But how far? How long before gereld will be in the courtyard?

It's how crooked the government treats the principle inspiration. People in the banking sector, inspiration, love of money. People in care and education for the inspiration man. Yet the people who have passion for money than rewards. People who inspire people come from scarce.
The banks appreciate money. They value people because she will not care if someone is hungry or not the yellow. Politics helps the banks. Not man. If you make a decision to remove the excess together deluded (can also be read literally, because money is relative, because it can suddenly evaporate) money away from banks and give it to people who appreciate the man.

The signal that politics is a bit like this conveys the wrong action. Cash is neither culture nor nature better. There's only one thing that makes better and that is 'good spirit' love.
What is a rich culture? Rich or nature? It depends on the amount of 100 Euro notes? Think not.
A banker working in health and education compared to not hard. He knows a trick, loophole for anyone to extort. As the basis, not on a fair reading done there is love, but it is not interchangeable. For it is only the love of the bank for more money and not the customer. Being undressed. Fair basis is basically a scale in balance. I've often said but not everyone can live with but you should really unite and divide. Honest. Balance will be achieved only if it is 50-50. A system that only works if one of the two variables should not work more. Eventually destroy one another. The system currently used is based on capitalism, war, competitors. That one needs to be 50 so the other must decrease. You shall never exceed 100. If two parties have the opportunity to one of their 50 to 60 can make it if it is fair because you award the other thing it will be 60 60 = 120. You rise above yourself. It is more. A strange thought if you think that more parts can be.

We have been taught that when you share everything is always less.

Go forth and multiply ... .... Unite and divide. Is the same only the other applied. Go together is the same as surely as the next 'assignment' is to multiply. But if you unite together and divide the result will always be more than one. Because everyone knows that we are together and sharing everything may come up that you realize nothing is needed. Because everything is already there and if everything is there, there is really nothing. Yes, one thing ... .. love, life.

In short, you can talk about forever, but the awareness is not good and when it's good - then it never will be. You must choose.
Life is black and white. Not gray.

PS, What if the spirit of care and education accounts, it would not have produced a problem as everyone deserves the same. Unite the money your income and divide it among men. Honest. And honestly is not a more or less money.
Because if there is a Jesus who does the department ... less than the director but the director has only love for money. The patient will not be cured by the Director.

Here is a statement from the so-called Gospel of Thomas. It's about culture and nature.

Jesus said: "A man can not ride two horses or two bows. And a servant can not serve two masters, or he will be an honor and insult others. They never drink old wine and immediately desires to drink new. Also, one does not pour new wine into old wineskins, lest they burst. And no one pours new wine into old bag, that he might not spoil. They do not sew rags on a new garment, because there will arise a tear. "

    Statement-by-thomasevangelie.net

You can not be true to yourself and to society. You can not lead a natural life and play in an unnatural culture. Any compromise compromises. You can not be just and participate in an unjust society. You can not save everything and its opposite. It is not and / or but and / or. It is not gray but black / white. Nature and culture are never together, but one is always at the expense of another. If a lake, the other less. Culture is a 100% unattainable utopia, 100% nature's paradise. So it began and where it will end. You can not from one day to the change. You can not create new life next to your old life. You in your new life do not use old mistakes.

    20 September 2009

@ Reza: thanks for your lengthy commentary about love. You are absolutely right but by example and give your love, because you can not change others, but yourself.

    Dear Paul,
    Very clearly expressed.
This is mi for the whole society, life and happiness is in the little things.
Scale is anonymous and it's just human nature to be known.
Fortunately, I find that commercial so many costs associated with large scale, that the efficiency of small scale, new opportunities for commercial exploitation on a small scale. I feel that it is the enthusiasm and involvement in this decisive.
To respond to Dr. Piet-Hein Prince CISA:
Business Spirituality is indeed a universal regularity, they would give you just can derive from that worth due to the large scale applications in the context of the spirit are torn. If you look over the statement, you should conclude that omspannigsvermogen within the company and the organization too much violence is done. It is therefore not logical in these cases the involvement and enthusiasm under the microscope, it is precisely the problem area applications.
Adapted from the model of Keuning / Eppink can therefore say that the model is no longer in balance, because there is no uniform growth or changes have been in different parts of this model.
    Sincerely,
    Ben Denberg

    Dear Paul,
Firstly, my compliments for this lively blog and its capacity to clarify this issue.

In relation to your article, I would like to posit the following statement from an organizational perspective: Although the basic principles of business as lawful and universal spirituality can be put down, their application that may not. The application is a combination of these basic principles with many variables that are governed by culture (country, company, family, background, etc.), language, place in the world and in the economy. In my study of the practical applications of business spirituality, me and two friends (psychologist Dr Saskia Roordink and Prof. Dr. Hans Mulder) encountered a potential factor that I'm going to call connection. Although it sounds like a mathematical approach, they do not (not really). Potential connection is the extent to which individuals in an organization (whether or not a change) are capable of (unconditional) connections (relationships) together to cover. Call it spontaneity, name, social behavior, I call the potential connection. As mentioned, culture is a very important component and this brings me back to your article and the book by Margaret Bene Feel and in particular the applicability of its U.S. findings in the Dutch business. I think we can learn from her book in the sense that the universal principles, which you also repeats, apply and that the American culture, country and culture as variables in the formula companies have contributed to their success.

What I would like to explore whether these variables also apply in the Dutch business. Without yet separately to want to go and we as a group also came up with this issue even more to explore ICT professionals (the art of Hans and myself) that are involved in change.

I've Hans Mulder realized he next Tuesday for the second time your reading will be attending (first reading Hans with me and Saskia attended to) and you will approach for an initial consultation on this research connecting potential within Business Spirituality.

    Will undoubtedly be continued.

    Sincerely,
    Dr. Piet-Hein Prince CISA

    20 September 2009

@ Piet Hein Prince: Thanks for your comments. You're exactly right. The application is highly culturally specific because it is the interaction between doing and being. This interaction is different for every culture and every organization. I have detailed in my chapter: cultural pitfalls in Export Management Handbook. I will publish it in my journal nogover. Every organization is unique! Thanks for your comment
